Gallery: What Dining On The Dam Was Like!

April 9, 2019 | Posted By: [email protected]

On Sunday, April 7, the clouds parted, the sun began to shine and people entered the gates at the first ever Dining On The Dam, presented by Nephron Pharmaceuticals.

To commemorate the occasion, everyone signed our version of a guest book; large, printed locks that we’ll be hanging in our visitors center for all to
see. Guests also received an insulated tumbler with lid as a gift from us and our presenting sponsor.

The walk down the dam including six food stations with meals prepared by Southern Way Catering and sourced by Certified SC to satisfy every craving, big
and small: braised short ribs, collard greens, deep fried catfish, a beautiful (and very popular) charcuterie display, whole roasted chicken, local
grits, pastries, fried green tomatoes… mmmm. Each station also featured wine and beer pairings for the dishes so they could be savored to the fullest.

Drink tents were donned with chandeliers and glowing hanging lights that added a beautiful touch to the evening. After grabbing their refreshment of choice,
couples found chairs at the bar to sit and gaze out over Lake Murray together. If you’re wondering who was behind the amazing set up, look no further
than Something Borrowed.

As the sun was setting, nostalgia began to sink in and appreciation for all those who came together to make this event possible.

“I’m so proud of Lexington County,” said Lou Kennedy, CEO of Nephron Pharmaceuticals. “This is one great night to celebrate what a wonderful Midlands we
are.”

Amanda Rollison, lifestyle blogger and owner of Value Minded Mama, wrote in her review that every minute of that time should be spent enjoying the breathtaking
views of Lake Murray at sunset. “Watching the sun go down over the lake, while casually sipping wine and sampling delicious food, was truly magical,”
she said. Read Amanda’s full review here.

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention that the Reggie Sullivan Band entertained all night with their mix of classic covers, original tunes and funky
arrangements of some of today’s hottest songs.

Special thanks to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department for keeping everyone safe throughout the evening as well as Southern Valet for shuttling attendees
from the parks to the venue.
