State Farm: Nick Shelly Agency - Preparing for the Future
The Greater Lexington Chamber recently welcomed State Farm’s The Nick Shelly Agency to its membership and celebrated the new business with a ribbon cutting ceremony on December 2.
"I have always wanted to own my own business and State Farm offered a way for me to really enjoy what I do," said Shelly, who was the office manager for Hal Girard State Farm in Lexington for twelve years prior to opening his own agency. "This career allows me to work directly with people to prepare for the future and provide financial security for their families."
Shelly realized his dream of being self-employed when he opened the doors to his new business on August 1, 2015, allowing him to continue serving the community in the insurance and financial arenas.
Shelly, who has been a resident of Lexington since 1990, graduated from Lexington high school, where he played soccer and ran cross-country. He then attended Lander University where he studied business and graduated with a degree in Marketing Management. Nick and his wife Kristie, and 8th grade math teacher at Lexington Middle School, have twins, who are almost four years old.
"As a State Farm Agent my goal is to help the people of West Columbia and the surrounding communities to manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected, and realize their dreams," Shelly said. "Being a State Farm Agent gives me the ability to impact my community and individuals in many ways."
The Nick Shelly Agency is located at 2277 Sunset Blvd in West Columbia. The office includes three staff members with 25 years of combined insurance experience. Shelly’s office is well prepared to help customers with their insurance and financial service needs.
