Spherion Staffing - Helping Others Find Career Fulfillment
Spherion Staffing, which has been doing business in the Midlands for more than 22 years, recently joined the Greater Lexington Chamber and celebrated its membership with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
After serving at Spherion for more than a decade in roles spanning recruiter and on-premise supervisor to operations manager and branch manager, Georgia and Michael Meeks became owners of the Columbia Spherion office during 2014, and they have continued to grow the company.
Spherion Staffing employs eight people and is located at 16 Berryhill Road #119 in Columbia.
Spherion Staffing offers an array of employment solutions that bend to meet the unique business needs of each client. These include flexible and project-based staff, direct-hire placements and comprehensive workforce solutions. Spherion is capable of providing anything from individual placements to large-scale staffing engagements. The Spherion Staffing team recruits from the area’s top talent in skill sets ranging from administrative/clerical and contact center/customer service to light industrial to non-clinical healthcare and professional.
“If you ask our clients and employees they would tell you that the difference is the local personalized service supported by a global staffing leader,” said Georgia Meeks, who takes pride in finding the brightest talent and matching it with job opportunities. “We offer the very best of both worlds. Our team has a shared passion to ensure that service excellence is the standard that defines the way we do business, and it shows!”
Lexington County is attractive to the business due to its rapid growth, diversified economy and the pro-business focus, according to Meeks.
“We don’t just fill jobs, we help companies reach goals and job seekers find career fulfillment. We genuinely love staffing and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the businesses and people in our community,” Meeks said. “The positive impact we have the opportunity to make is our driving force each and every day!”
Looking to the future, one of the company’s top initiatives for the 2016 is to make Spherion’s Emerging Workforce Study (EWS) more accessible to businesses in the community.
“This groundbreaking research helps companies make more informed decisions to positively drive employee engagement, productivity and retention,” said Meeks, who would like to spread the word among Chamber members.

“Spherion’s team has a passion for the staffing business. We take the responsibility of building our client’s workforce very seriously. It is the most important resource in any organization in every industry,” Meeks said. “We ensure that we find an ideal match for the client and our candidate with each placement we make. We love what we do!”
