McLeod Home Care opens in Lexington
McLeod Home Care offers personal care, dementia care, companionship, transportation, light housekeeping,
meal preparation and pet care. Melisa & Tim McLeod, owners of McLeod Home Care, have been in business since September 2016. Melisa believes that because of COVID-19 people are getting a firsthand experience at what it’s like to be isolated and possibly forgotten. “Companionship is more important than people realize,” she said. “We go in and provide assistance keeping our client clean, safe, fed, happy and healthy. We are also able to learn from the greatest generation. Just being with them gives our amazing caregivers the reward they deserve.”
McLeod offers quality personal care including online care notes so that client families can check in on the progress of their loved one in real time. One
memorable story is where they have seen a client recure several times over the years. They have gone in to take care of someone who was said to die
in weeks and after their care and attention, that client would go on to live for years.
Melisa’s biggest take away is that we need to live life now, not tomorrow; taking advantage of each and every day. The people in Lexington make her and
