Inspire Interiors - Design, Decor & More
After being in business for only two months, one local business is well on its way to achieving the goal of being well known and respected in the Lexington community.
Inspire Interiors, which specializes in home décor and in home design, recently celebrated its Greater Lexington Chamber membership with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The business, located at 5076 Sunset Blvd, Unit B, beside Travinia, offers retail, along with design, event planning and decorating.
“Design and decorating have always been a passion of mine,” owner Lisa Gissendanner said. “We offer full scale design services as well as event planning and decorating. We will also do decorating for Christmas and Christmas parties.”
Prior to opening Inspire Interiors, which employs two people, Gissendanner did design work with O’Connor Design in West Columbia. When she decided to open her own business, she chose Lexington because it’s home.
“She very graciously mentored me and allowed me to come along beside her and further learn the business,” Gissendanner said of her time with O’Connor Design. Gissendanner, who has a nursing degree, previously owned a health care business, allowing her to do commercial design work as well.
Gissendanner is joined at Inspire Interiors by Tonya Hammond, who works in the design department. Hammond has done decorating in Lexington for many years. AnnaLee Jewell of Jewell Builders also works in the store. Gissendanner’s husband, an engineer who does commercial construction, is another huge asset for the design department.
According to Gissendanner, the most gratifying aspect of the business is “seeing clients love what they’ve purchased or what we have done for them in their homes.”
She wants fellow Chamber members to know “that we are here to serve and please our clients and inspire them to make their home a beautiful and comfortable living space.”
