Food, Friends & Family - Main Street Steakhouse & Bar
Lexington residents have been waiting for a steakhouse for what seems like forever.
Well, the wait is over.
Main Street Steakhouse & Bar, one of the Greater Lexington Chamber’s newest members, has filled the longtime void, becoming “the premier steakhouse in the heart of downtown Lexington.”
The restaurant, located at 131 East Main Street, employs eight people and has been in business for about six months. Main Street Steakhouse & Bar is locally-owned by Bob and Jannice Whitworth. They are hands-on owners who want to get to know their customers and guests.
Bob calls it “the best job in the world. We see our kids, friends and family daily.”
Restaurant hours are 5-10pm Monday through Saturday.
The menu features several cuts of beef, including a ribeye and a New York strip, along with grilled Atlantic salmon, grilled marinated chicken, beef tenderloin and many more creative, mouth-watering entrées and appetizers.
Main Street Steakhouse & Bar truly has a family atmosphere and a local home town bar and restaurant feel.
According to Whitworth, plans for the future are to “grow Main Street into a thriving family fun environment for our town. We also will be upgrading the restaurant and bar over the next year.”
That will include expanding the back stairs to a sitting and dining deck and opening the ceiling in the restaurant to expose the 1912 historic cathedral ceilings. They also plan to renovate the dance floor and redo and expand the bar area.
“We pride ourselves on customer service and being involved in our community,” Whitworth said. “We also serve some pretty amazing steaks!”
