South Carolina State Farmers Market
3483 Charleston Highway
West Columbia, SC 29172
The South Carolina State Farmers Market is so much more than a place to buy produce. Here you’ll find a restaurant, bakery, even an exhibition kitchen. But make no mistake: The bounty of the field headlines this attraction. Fruits and vegetables from all over the world, as well as what’s SC Certified Grown, are on colorful display.
Farmers sell their produce in open-air sheds and in the Market Pavilion’s climate-controlled Corbett Building. Curious about what’s in season? See what is at the market today.
If all the walking makes you hungry—the market complex is not small—stop in at Judy’s at the Market. Breakfast and lunch, all home-grown and house-made, are served weeklong. Look for local produce and meat prepared with a South Carolina accent. Hand-battered fried okra, angus beef burgers, country-fried steak, and red velvet cake are favorites!
Jacob’s General Store, just down from Judy’s at the Market, recalls the farm culture of yesteryear. Besides fresh produce and locally-made jam, you can relish a cold Coca-Cola from an old-fashioned glass bottle.
