“To help people have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity.”

That’s the mission for one of the Greater Lexington Chamber’s newest members.

BAYADA Home Care has been in business since 1975, and is now serving clients in 22 states from more than 300 offices. The company’s team includes more than 18,000 home health care professionals. BAYADA is always actively recruiting RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. The local office is at 900 Elmwood Avenue, Suite 103, in Columbia.

“BAYADA provides nursing and personal care services to children, adults, and seniors worldwide. We care for our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Families coping with significant illness or disability need help and support while caring for a family member,” client services manager Devon Mellichamp said. “Our goal at BAYADA is to provide the highest quality home care services available. We believe our clients and their families deserve home care delivered with compassion, excellence, and reliability – our BAYADA core values.”

BAYADA serves a wide range of counties in SC, including Allendale, Aiken, Bamberg, Barnwell, Calhoun, Clarendon, Darlington, Edgefield, Florence, Kershaw, Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, Richland, Saluda, Sumter, and Williamsburg from the Columbia location. BAYADA also has pediatric and adult offices in Rock Hill, Charleston and Greenville that cover the majority of the rest of the state.

“With a strong commitment from each of us at BAYADA, we will make it possible for millions of people worldwide to experience a better quality of life in the comfort of their own homes,” Mellichamp said. “We want to build and maintain a lasting legacy as the world’s most compassionate and trusted team of home care professionals.”

One of the primary differences from similar companies is the training BAYADA provides its staff. In addition to the classes and hands-on training with a preceptor, there is also a simulation lab that client’s families new to home care and the employees have access to in order to improve their skills prior to being out in the home.

“In home care, we do work that matters,” Mellichamp said. “If we are able to provide services to someone, that may determine if they have to live in the hospital or assisted living instead of getting to live in the comfort of their own home.”
