On Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. there will be magic in the air on Devine Street in Columbia, South Carolina where one of the nation’s largest St. Patrick's Day Festivals will begin its second event of the day, the St. Pat’s First Citizens Parade.
The St. Pat’s Parade will assemble at Dreher High School and travel the Musical Mile down Devine Street into Five Points offering blocks of public viewing. After entering Five Points, the parade will wind its way down Devine Street and up Saluda Avenue, returning to Harden Street at the Five Points Fountain and concluding near Food Lion.

The one-day bicycling event will feature family fun rides, along with challenges for serious riders. We will also have fun activities for the family throughout the day and vendor opportunities. All proceeds from the event are to go to fund screenings for underprivileged patients.
The 65 mile ride will begin at 8:00 AM, the 25 mile ride will begin at 9:00 AM, and the 10 mile & 5 mile rides will begin at 10 AM at Dutch Fork High School. All riders should plan appropriately and be ready to start riding at 8:00, 9:00, or 10:00 AM. Check in is an hour prior to your ride start time. The Lexington County Peach Festival is an all-day celebration held on July 4th, at the Gilbert Community Park in Gilbert, SC. The festival is recognized as one of the most successful and prestigious events of its kind in the Southeast United States. Join us as we celebrate the "queen of all fruits," the peach; and Independence Day. With events such as the Peach Pageants, Peachy Recipe Contest, live entertainment, and of course, the Peach Parade; the Peach Festival is sure to put a smile on your face and hopefully a peach in your hand! The festival begins with the Peach Parade (9:30 a.m.) and ends with a beautiful fireworks show (10 p.m.). Arts & craft vendors line Rikard Circle for the entire day while festival goers enjoy live entertainment on three different stages throughout the Gilbert Community Park. The Lexington County Peach Queen Pageants are held in conjunction with the festival. Other fun and exciting events, including the Peachy Recipe Contest, Antique Car Show, Antique Tractor Show and much more are held throughout the day. BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, BBQ chicken and pork plates are available for purchase throughout the park; and of course, peach ice cream, peach slush, peach tea, peach parfaits and peach cobbler are just a few of our signature desserts that are also available.
Boaters decorate their boats according to the theme and parade around the inlet starting at 10 am at high tide. Best spots to view the parade: Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, Capt. October 13-October 24, 2010 -- The South Carolina State Fair will celebrate its 140th year in 2009. The citizens of South Carolina will have exhibits on display varying from flowers, baked goods, canned goods, needlework, quilting, fine art, student art, livestock and agriculture.
