Town of Lexington Receives Grant for Dam Cleanup

The Town of Lexington recently received a USDA grant, totally $702,000 to help with the flood recovery process.

The funds will be used to clean up the areas around Old Mill Pond Dam and Gibson Pond Dam.

Cleanup activity began this week and will take approximately two months. The goal of the cleanup is to remove debris and downed trees along with the rock and sediment.

After the cleanup, the Twelve Mile Creek will be diverted back to its original stream bed.
