Gibson Jewelers - GLC&VC's Newest Member, Columbia's Trusted Jeweler
Gibson Jewelers, a pillar in the Columbia jewelry community for more than 25 years, has joined the Greater Lexington Chamber and recently celebrated its membership with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Located at 2701 Rosewood Drive in Columbia, Gibson Jewelers has specialized in fine jewelry since opening its doors to Midlands’ customers in 1987.
Gibson, originally from Greenville, has lived in Columbia since 1978. He graduated from USC in 1982 with degrees in Retail Management and Marketing Management. His wife Jill works for the Greater Lexington Chamber, and the Gibson’s daughter Lindsey is a 19-year-old sophomore at USC.
“We are in Richland County, but have customers that come from all over the state for repairs and custom design,” President Gregory Gibson said. “We are a local business, not a chain, and we value our customers and provide excellent service.”
That service includes in-house repair work and custom jewelry design, something that sets Gibson Jewelers apart from the competition. Another unique feature is the consignment jewelry case, which is filled with beautiful pieces at incredible prices. The store, which employs three people, also offers sterling silver and other exclusive pieces.
Gibson said the most gratifying part of the job is “delivering a beautiful piece of jewelry, custom work or repair that is more beautiful than my customer could have ever imagined.” With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, now would be the perfect time to visit Gibson Jewelers if you’ve never been. Make the quick trip into Columbia to the corner of Rosewood and Woodrow and discover the beautiful, unique jewelry Gibson Jewelers has to offer.
