Columbia Liquors at Costco Knows How To Serve!

“The alcohol industry is a serious business but it’s also a very fun business,” Alisha Mertins, general manager of Columbia Liquors at Costco, said. “Every day I am learning something new and passing that information along to either my staff or customers.” This knowledge and service-driven mindset are just two of the things that set Columbia Liquors apart from other stores.

There are currently five employees and they know their drinks! Each staff member goes through various alcohol-based courses to ensure they are well educated in wine, beer and spirits.

Mertins explained that this is all to better serve the customer. “Focusing on educating our staff helps educate the customer and provides a unique environment for them to shop and feel more welcome.” The shop also offers free in-store tastings so that customers can try before they buy. For customers who prefer a more intimate setting, Columbia Liquors can even bring the tasting into their homes.

Columbia Liquors has it all- customer service, knowledge and savings! Columbia Liquors buys big and passes the savings on to the customer. And the savings apply whether you buy one bottle or several cases. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, Columbia Liquors can order it for you. “No order is too large or too small,” Mertins added. “We specialize in special orders and we want to be your only source for adult beverages.”

Their plans for the future are to continue to focus on market trends and search for new and even rare items to offer to their customers. They also hope to continue to build upon their tasting events, both inside and outside the store, to further improve the overall customer experience.

Columbia Liquors at Costco celebrated their one year anniversary with a ribbon cutting on August 10. Columbia Liquors is located at 505 Piney Grove Rd., Columbia SC. For more information please email info@columbialiquors.com or visit www.columbiascliquors.com.
