Doctors Care expands to Red Bank

DoctorsCareRed Bank citizens can have their healthcare needs met without driving too far, thanks to the new Doctors Care Red Bank. The 4,350-square-foot center provides several services, including:

•    Urgent care and surgical procedures (sprains, fractures, lacerations, accident evaluation, burns)
•    Family care (physicals, x-rays, blood work, colds/strep/flu care)
•    Vaccinations (tetanus, flu, pneumonia, hepatitis, travel)

Doctors Care also will offer its occupational medical services to employers in the region. On staff are Ana J. Zavadzkas, MD, and Bert B. Oubre, MD, F.A.C.S.

“Our medical professionals are dedicated to providing quality, convenient urgent care, family care, and employer health services throughout South Carolina,” said Dr. Thomas Gibbons, chief medical director. “We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our services in the Red Bank community and look forward to serving its citizens.”

During a recent open house and ribbon cutting, the Doctors Care staff presented a charitable gift to the Red Bank Elementary Special Olympics Team.

“It is truly an honor to be able to give back to the Red Bank community,” said David Boucher, president/COO of UCI Medical Affiliates. “Our organization is looking forward to building relationships with those in this community and serving them in our new, state of the art facility.”

Doctors Care opened in 1981 as Columbia’s first minor emergency medical center. Doctors Care Red Bank is the company’s 52nd center.

Doctors Care Red Bank is at 1847 South Lake Drive. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8a.m.- 8p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Visits can be made with or without an appointment. For more information, call 356-8998 or visit www.DoctorsCare.com.

  1. For those who have been following my saga with highly advertised Doctors Care (Red Bank), here is an update. I’m filing a claim with the AMA this week. Nearly a week and a day later, Doctors Care called me back and told me that they are sorry, but mental health issues like “PTSD” are not considered urgent and do not fall within the scope of their care. The fact that this doctor can blatantly lie to me and tell me she could write the script upon receipt of my medical records and then delay my progress in getting help for over a week is unconscionable.
