About the Chamber
A Foundation for the Community
The Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center, established in 1959, provides a foundation on which the community builds its goals, plans, and events. Upon this foundation rests an important Chamber responsibility – to contribute to the quality of life enjoyed by both our residents and visitors.
Who We Are
We’ve got water. Lake Murray boasts more than 500 miles of shoreline and some of the best fishing in the country. Retail potential abounds! Whether you prefer national retail chains or locally owned “unique-to-the-area” shops, it can be found in Lexington. This winning combination makes Lexington the best place to live, work, play and raise a family.
Don’t Just Take Our Word For It…
Thank you for your very professional and prompt response. I went to look for answers to my own questions and quickly realized that the information I was requesting was very easy to find here at the chamber website. In fact everything has been perfect so far. This is by far the most well done chamber website I have seen in SC!
If I could give 100 stars for support and attention to helping me launch my business I definitely would! I joined the Lexington Chamber to connect to other business owners in Columbia and Lexington and the support has been remarkable – I really mean this. The personal support and attention to detail is quite phenomenal. If you are considering joining a chamber in the midlands, then take it from me, you will be extremely pleased.
Where We Are
The Results Don’t Lie
- Consumers are 63% more likely to buy from chamber members.
- When business decision-makers believe that a business is a chamber member, they are 59% more likely to buy goods and services from it.
A national survey of 2,000 adults reveals that a business that is a member of a local chamber of commerce is enjoying increasing favorability. In the second such survey in five years, The Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based market research firm, found positive attitudes among adults in 2012 have actually increased over the very favorable findings of the first study in 2007.
